Urban Eye believes that carefully thought out
public art, design and lighting along with planned maintenance provision,
significantly contributes towards regenerating run-down inner city areas.
Involvement of local people in projects offers a creative outlet,
improved ownership of the completed works and of their neighbourhood,
producing a safer and more attractive environment.
Urban Eye has completed over 40 long-term projects in London and
has gained tremendous experience in regenerating areas through public art.
As a recent Carnegie Trust report on Urban Eye puts it: Vision, dedication
and remarkable persistence are just some attributes that have made this
(Carnegie Trust, Pride in Place: Tackling Incivilities 2012).
